Snejana Stoyanova’s collages are constructed through cutting, layering, and interlacing vinyl elements. The works create woven visual surfaces that suggest traces, memory, fragmentation, and the quiet presence of material experience. Moving between structure and intuition, these collages explore how surfaces can hold time, gesture, and emotional residue.
Attempt to Fly
Attempt to Fly explores the tension between the human body and the idea of flight. Each work interweaves a photographic image of birds in motion with a drawn image of the human figure — hands, faces, portraits, bodies, and fragments of gesture.
The birds represent real flight: instinctive, physical, immediate.
The human image represents the inner construction of self: memory, longing, fear, identity, and the desire to transcend gravity.

Angel in the City
Angel in the City serves as the prologue to Attempt to Fly. In this large-scale work, 75 × 50 in, a drawn angel is interwoven with a photographic urban crowd, placing the myth of flight inside the density and fragmentation of the city. The angel becomes a human projection of transcendence — not yet the real flight of birds, but the first imagined form of rising beyond gravity.

The “Traces” Collection, 2011, explores the visible and invisible marks we leave in the world through our actions, thoughts, words, and presence.
Touch
The “Touch” Collection, 2012, explores contact, memory, and the traces left by presence. Through layered and interlaced vinyl surfaces, the works suggest touch as both a physical gesture and an emotional imprint.
